Born and raised in La Porte, Texas, Ryan Gentile graduated high school in 2000. He would go on to Stephen F. Austin State University, where he would graduate in the spring of 2008 with a degree in Radio/TV. He would stick around East Texas until 2010, calling high school sports on the radio. In 2010, he decided to come back home to Houston, and that is when he connected with Legacy Sports Network and has been broadcasting for them ever since. He started off calling for his alma mater La Porte’s football, baseball, and basketball teams from 2010-2012. He would take a break from things and come back in 2018, where he called Dickinson and Pasadena ISD football along with North Shore men's and women’s basketball. He currently is the voice of the Clear Brook Wolverines, where he has been since 2021. His proudest moment was getting to call the playoff game between the La Porte Bulldogs and the powerhouse Katy Tigers in 2011, where the Bulldogs would pull the upset and win 9-7 in the Regional Semifinal.
